Bridger Teton
Bridger Teton National Forest 12/03/2010 Conservation is the use and exploitation of the land in a sustainable way, or one might say to manage. Preservation is the protection of the land that limits use, in order to maintain a pristine condition or to protect. After my research, I do believe that humans can actually harvest forest resources in an environmentally friendly way. Does that mean we should? In my opinion, I think that each situation is different, based on the use of the land and what the condition of the land is that is trying to be used.In the case of the Bridger Teton National forest, I do feel that it should be left in its natural state. For so many years this land has been untouched, untamed and undiscovered. To take land of this nature for drilling, building roads and pipelines are not worth it. To the people of Wyoming it is more valuable than what you can get out of it from oil and gas. New technology should allow other ways to give us freedom for foreign oil. I rea lly thought it was odd that the politicians were already calling ââ¬Å"Management Area 71â⬠which does not scream environmentally friendly. In my research I did come across a reading that stated conservation was good in some instances to keep wild life under control and allowed for controlled hunting. Iââ¬â¢m not sure if I can consider that environmentally friendly. Humans are changing the environment by fragmenting landscapes, and by removing species from their habitats. Preservation should remain for the Bridger Teton National Forest, and should only be preserved if and only if it is not maintaining a pristine condition on itââ¬â¢s own.

Vision Statement Comparison Assignment Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words - 1
Vision Statement Comparison - Assignment Example Even though it does not show where the company intends to go it explains the planning in the company. Therefore, the vision statement in the two companies is directed towards making a profit to the shareholders and also satisfying their clients. (MacDonald, 1997) The vision statement is similar with the educational vision statement in that it shows a bigger picture on where the company intends to be. MacDonald (1997) they are also similar as both articulate the dream on where either the company or the institutions intends to be. For example, in Georgia intends to maximize the potential in students through creating a productive citizen that can contribute to positive development of the society. California University of Pennsylvania intends envisions being the top university in the entire America. In the company, vision statement can apply to different divisions; the educational vision statements also might be different from one faculty to another. But what is clear that the overall vision statement should be consistent. The example of the vision statement from both companies and two educational institutions act as a driving force to employees and the staff towards achieving the bigger picture in the or the fundamental laid objectives. Powerpoint on Universal Studios Hollywood Park (see other instructions Presentation
On Universal Studios Hollywood Park (see other instructions ) - PowerPoint Presentation Example The company went to receivership and Standard successfully obtained only to lose it two decades later to the MCA (Sehlinger, & Testa, 2011). The company has since diversified to the international platform. The entertainment company serves almost all ages in the global society through the production of the most appropriate films that each age may deserve. The movies sell globally across different cultures and political systems because of its approach to customization to ensure that ethics are not contravened whatsoever (Sandler, 2008). The Universal studios based in Orlando which own a water park establishes the best local example the companyââ¬â¢s entertainment approaches. The company ensures that entertainment services are the key to drawing visitors to its services which include hospitality services (Sehlinger, & Testa, 2011). The companyââ¬â¢s management ensures advertisement throughout different geographic and demographic segmentations with precise emphasis of the benefits accruable from visiting the studios or using its products (Wallace, & Adams Media Corporation, 2004). These approaches target both local and international clients (Plunkett, 2007). The American based and one of the oldest entertainment production companies has its headquarters at Hollywood. However, over the last half a century, the company diversified accordingly to different markets in the United States of America, central Europe, and south East Asia (Enz, 2010). These effects date from the initial owner ship of the Laemmleââ¬â¢s family, to the receivership by Standard to the current ownership. The US authorities implement stringent approaches to regulating ownership and decision making processes of the media industry. Therefore, Universal studios fall under the acts thus; only 20% of the shares may be sold to the foreign investors, although the authorities may withhold such measures if the increased foreign investments shall benefit the indigenous

Write about Ashland university experience Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words
Write about Ashland university experience - Essay Example Because of all of these warnings and advices I had put together a set of goals and long-term plans that did not include much social interaction or personal joy. Ashland University, however, maintained none of these circumstances and these misconceptions are not supported by real university experience. Since attending Ashland, I have found a great deal of time to explore my personal interests. This is due largely to the method by which instructors teach courses. It is due also to flexible scheduling for class attendance available to the students. Much to my surprise, I was able to explore rewarding social experiences and even gala due to the give that educators provide related to homework and other projects. This is not at all to imply that Ashland provides inferior education, only that the university seems to understand that extra-curricular fun and growth is very important for student satisfaction and stress reduction. There is also a common belief among many individuals that have studied English as a second language that English is very easy to master. ESL students often show off their learning in the English language to tell others in society how well they have succeeded. When others in Saudi Arabia who have just begun English lessons ask about the difficulty or content, they are often dismissed and told not to be concerned about problems. These students believe that tutor instruction is not very important to the learning process and that it can be achieved alone through very light study. English, however, is recognized by many researchers as being one of the most difficult languages in the entire world. Without the assistance of educators at Ashland in teaching style and patience, I would still be struggling with the English language today. I found that many instructors see my difficulties with comprehension and are willing to point out errors in grammar. They also give better tips on how to use the language properly. Even while writing this essay, I am

Research critique on Women with Dementia Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2500 words
Critique on Women with Dementia - Research Paper Example The study was written in APA style with correct citations throughout the article. There was an extensive reference list at the end of the article that spanned 26 years (1979-2005). The references are aligned with different aspects of the study and the authors provided an extensive list that could have been used by someone who wanted to conduct another study like it. There was no indication of the authorsââ¬â¢ credentials on the article so more research was available about the authors. Ward-Griffin is an educator and researcher at the Lawson Health Research Institute in Canada, focusing on ââ¬Å"gender, care work and healthâ⬠(Ward-Griffin, 2013, para. 1). Her research has been funded nationally. Bol is a Nurse Case Manager at the London Health Sciences Centre in London, Ontario. Her specialty is psychogeriatric nursing, according to her LinkedIN profile. Oudshoorn is an assistant professor at the Arthur Labatt Family School of Nursing in Canada and his specialties are in community health and mental health (Western Health Sciences, 2013). All three researchers have the qualifications to add expertise to this article. The title of this article was misleading because it appeared at the first several readings of the title that the authors were talking to the adult daughters of women with dementia. When reading the paper, the authors talked to women with dementia about the care that they were receiving from their daughters. This made a very different objective for the gathering of data and the presentation of the results than if the study had interviewed the women. The researchers conducted 10 in-depth and semi-structured interviews with 10 women living in the community. The average age for the participants was 88 years of age but the range of ages was from 75 to 98. The average time spent with mothers and daughters together was three

Postmodernism and Theory Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words
Postmodernism and Theory - Essay Example The essay "Postmodernism and Theory" explores the movement of Postmodernism. To a large degree, postmodernism is focused on an examination of reality versus unreality, discovering in the process that there is more blurred areas between the two than there are clear distinctions. These ideas are discussed through several works including Baudrillard, Mulvey and Nochlin.Introducing the idea of the simulation, Baudrillard says that we have come to a place where the false precedes the real. In addition to discovering that the simulation no longer matches the real, Baudrillard says it has gone farther, reducing everything down to miniature and making it hyperreal, something that exists in and of itself, with little to connect it to the original. The real, in this system, has become little more than a series of signs that stand in its place. The danger with simulacra as opposed to representation is that representation starts with the idea of the real within the representation while simulatio n wraps around the representation and calls everything false. Disneyland is used as an example of how the imaginary happy social world contained within its gates as opposed to the isolation of the parking lot masks how the world we believe to be America is just as falsely envisioned. "It is always a question of proving the real by the imaginary; proving truth by scandal; proving the law by transgression; proving work by the strike; proving the system by crisis and capital by revolutionâ⬠. This same concept is traced.
